The department looks after the operations of the airport at the airside, such as, issuance of permits for vehicles and vehicle operators, powering up of airplanes, etc. The department handles the issuance of driving and vehicle permits and tracks any incidents at the runway or airborne flights. The investigate the reasons and look for what has caused the incident like, if it is due to driver, equipment etc. The department looks after the runway maintenance to mitigate the rubber on the runway which reduces the friction to decrease the power usage.
